ALTAF HUSSAIN

Altaf Hussain is the leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He was born on September 17, 1948 in Karachi. Mr. Hussain's father, Mr. Nazir Hussain, and mother, Mrs. Khursheed Begum, both belonged to a religious family of Agra, India. In early 1970s the large family of Mr. Nazir Hussain moved into a modest house constructed on a 520 square yard. The house was later dedicated to MQM's political and welfare activities. Primary to Intermediate Education: Altaf Hussain received primary education (grade 1-5) from Dehli Bhai Allah Rakkha School located on Jahangir Road. He completed his secondary education (grade 6-10) from Government Boys Secondary School located on Jail Road. He completed 11th grade from National College, Karachi and the 12th grade from City College, Karachi where he received his Intermediate Diploma in Science. National Cadet Scheme Service: When the Armed Forces of Pakistan started a National Cadet Scheme Service in 1971, Mr. Hussain joined the Service and started participating in it with his heart and mind. He completed his one-year training with 57th Baloch Regiment, and started focusing on his college studies, once again. Higher Education: Altaf Hussain completed his Bachelor of Arts from Islamia College, Karachi in 1974. He started his Bachelor of Pharmacy at Karachi University and completed his degree in 1979.
 

DR. FAROOQ SATTAR

Dr. Farooq Sattar is the Deputy Convener and Parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a mainstream political party in Pakistan.[1]. He belongs to Memon, Muhajir family and lives in PIB Colony of Karachi, a modest and lower-middle income class area. A former mayor of Karachi, he was the youngest mayor in its history when he was elected at age 28.. He has also served as Provincial Minister in the Sindh Cabinet for Local Bodies and is one of the senior Members of the MQM Co-Ordination Committee. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan

Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan (alternative spelling: Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan) is, as of 2007, the Governor of the province of Sindh in Pakistan. He is a key member of the Muttahida Quami Movement. Social Benefits Controversy: In what was seen as a major embarrassment for the country, in Jun 2005 the Sunday Telegraph reported that Ishratul Ibad continued to receive up to a £1,000 a month in financial assistance from the UK government for 10 months while he was the Governor of Sindh. When confronted his wife replied, "Pakistani politics was so unpredictable that her husband may have been forced to return to England within a few months." Ishrat in his defence said that he had repaid a matter of "a few hundred pounds" but he was keen to make sure any money that might still be outstanding was reimbursed.
 

Syed Mustafa Kamal

Syed Mustafa Kamal is the City Nazim (Mayor) of Karachi. Mr. Kamal is one of the well-known members of the third largest political party in Pakistan, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Biography: He was born in 1971 in Karachi,Pakistan. He studied in Karachi till Intermediate and left for Malaysia where he completed an Associate Diploma in Business Executive studies. He earned his MBA in Marketing from the University of Wales (UK). Before becoming the Mayor of Karachi, he served as a minister for Information Technology with the Sindh government. Involvement with MQM: He has been associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for more than a decade. He was nominated as Mayor (City Nazim) by the Haq Parast panel, in local bodies election.
